GENERAL POLICIES

ALL THE ITEMS OF THESE POLICIES WILL BE RIGOROUSLY OBSERVED BY THE SCIENTIFIC COMMISSION FOR THE RECEIPT, EVALUATION AND PRESENTATION OF THE PAPERS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE CONGRESS.
Cases where these policies are not observed will be submitted to the Scientific Commission for its decision.
Thematic Areas
1 – Chemistry, Analysis of Food and Sensorial Analysis
2 - Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology of Food
3 – Food and Nutritional Security
4 – Technology and Food Engineering
The summary should outline the relevance, originality and conclusions that result from the research in the Area of Food Science and Technology, which will be presented in its simple form for analysis by the Scientific Commission of the event, depending on the choice of the participant at the time of his or her registration. 
The author(s) are responsible for the entire content of the paper. 
Each person registered will have the right to send up to 2 (two) summaries, with a maximum of five authors for each summary.
5 – For publication of the papers on a CD at least one of its authors must be registered for the congress by 18/08/2010.

 

 

POLICIES FOR REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

 

1. The registering of the papers will be done on this website. The link to send papers will be available after the information has been filled out and the choice of a registration category has been made. 
2. The papers can be registered in both English and Portuguese.
3. Within the system for registering papers, available on the website, the author responsible for communication with the event’s organizers should fill out the following:

  • Title of the Paper;
  • Research Themes;
  • Names of all the authors (complete, no abbreviations) with their respective emails and institutional links. 

Obs. The name of the advisor should come immediately after the name of the first author then followed by the names of the other participants; IES name or similar.
Key words (minimum 03, maximum 6, Portuguese expressions related to the theme of the paper and that should not be present in the “Title” (ABNT. NBR-6028, 2003)
4. The work should have a maximum of 2800 (two-thousand and eight hundred characters), with brief and concrete information about the introduction of the issue, the justification and relevance of the paper, its objective, the methods and materials used, the results and discussion of the paper’s conclusions.
5. The Summary of the version sent to the Scientific Commission should be presented with a single paragraph, which includes only the Title, without the names of the authors or institutional links. Immediately after the Summary and following the “Key Words” heading, at a minimum three and maximum six Portuguese expressions related to the theme will be included, separated by commas and which should not be present in the “Title” (ABNT. NBR-6028, 2003).
6. The author responsible for sending the summary will automatically receive confirmation of the receipt of the paper (s). The results of the evaluation of the paper will be available on the web page of the event.
7. Requests for reevaluation of papers that weren’t selected will not be accepted.
8. Filling out all the fields in the registration form, especially “Name” and “Title of Paper” will prevent problems later when the certificates are issued.
9. In cases where someone is a co-author of more than one paper, the name on each summary sent should be exactly the same.

POLICY NORMS FOR THE PRESENTATION OF PAPERS

 

1. The approved papers will be presented in poster form.
2. The posters should be 100 centimeters tall and 90 centimeters wide. All the text, numbers and tables should be able to be read at a distance of 2 meters. We suggest the following size for the lettering. “Title” size 44; “Authors’ names and institutions size 38”; the rest of the text, size 22.
3. The authors (or the principal author) must be next to their posters at the time determined beforehand by the Scientific Commission of the Event.
4. Only one certificate will be issued for each paper presented.
5. The approved papers (and with the registration fees paid) will be published in the Annals of the Congress (CD-Rom).
